The Photographer: Julie Hopkins
My name is Julie Hopkins and I consider myself very lucky to be able to photograph people for a living, because I enjoy the human experience and understand our need to create memories. I ultimately facilitate the emotional connection that is inspired, and desired, by people via relational portraiture.
I developed my eye for beauty first as a professional ballet dancer, then with a degree in art history and finally with years of practice behind the camera. All of these experiences have influenced how I see things and translate them to the photographic realm. I am a photographic print artist and everything that I photograph is visualized with the final print in mind.
As a professional I understand the ever present need to improve my skills and establish credibility. So, I take time to do so by participating with groups, such as WPPI, Professional Photographers of America, and educational seminars whenever possible.
I currently live in Los Angeles with my husband, David, and my dog, Matilda. I am comfortable speaking French and Spanish, enjoy cultural diversity and am available to photograph worldwide.
My photography has been published in magazines such as Vogue, Huffington Post, West Hollywood Lifestyle Magazine, Dance magazine, Pointe magazine and Backstage West.
So, give me a call, or shoot me an email, so that I may help you create memories through photography. Phone, 323-466-3909; Email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
